Industrial lightweighting technology developments: a European perspective and material applications in Emilia-Romagna

The Mechatronics and Motoristics Clust-ER (MECH-ER) is an association of 76 among public and private bodies in the Emilia Romagna region in Italy. MECH-ER has been a member of ELCA since 2019.

MECH-ER organises the “MECH talks” events for promoting innovative activities in the region within strategic domains. For this month they are organising one event dedicated to lightweight technologies and their regional relevance. The regional government is trying to position the region as a pole of reference for lightweight industry and academia.

The event will begin with a scenario on lightweight processes at the European level, followed by a presentation of a project for the internationalisation of “lightweight made in Europe” competencies, in which Clust-ER MECH is also involved.

With contributions from international guests, the meeting will then concentrate on the presentation of lightweighting technologies using advanced polymeric materials and modern metal alloys for additive manufacturing.

The event will take place on May 5th, 2021 – 15.30-18.00.
